Berglund has 4 assists in 31 games in the AHL so far. Not exactly translating well to US Game and the smaller ice surface .

Edmonton needs winger help. And D.Simon is a cheap option on an expiring deal. Thought a “B-“, “C+” prospect was good value for Edmonton.

He isn’t even a top 10 prospect in their system? You a Berglund fan??

Ya, I’ve posted this trade before. The only push back I got was Avs would have to make a deal and acquire a 4th line center.

But the Avs save 600K in this deal too. And they need all the cap space they can get.

And Kappy has a QO of just 875K next season. But he has arbitration rights. He won’t get the 3.2M he’s getting this season though. I would say 2.2M-2.75M.

A 3rd line of OConnor -Newhook -Kappy looks good on paper. And ZAR is one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL. Avs need defense and physicality. He also has 167 “hits” in just 46 games this year. He’ll have over 200 hits this season. That’s pretty elite too as far as physicality goes.

I keep linking this article so people understand the value of ZAR.

https://jfresh.substack.com/p/zach-aston-reese-has-the-best-defensive?s=r

And he’s a fan favorite in pittsburgh. I get a lot of hate for saying to trade him. I just think it would be good asset management to move him now. He’s gonna be a UFA for the 1st time this offseason. He’s gonna cash in.

Some GM will overpay him just because he’s an analytical darling. And super physical. Top 10 in “hits” in the NHL. Has 167 “hits” in 48 games. He’ll have over 200 this season. Which is pretty elite too as far as physicality goes.

And people don’t realize too. He was the Hobey baker runner up. Had 31 goals and 63 points in 38 games his Senior year.

Completely revamped his game to become a top defensive forward in the NHL. He can still put the out in the net enough and contribute offensively enough for a bottom 6

And Avs need defensive and physicality help. ZAR would be a huge help and get for them. And Avs fans will love him. Pens twitter posts a segment of “ZAR’s 5-8 hit game highlights”. Cause every game he has like 4-5 big hits..lol.

I get the feeling you must be ZAR's agent or something with the amount of praise youve got for him lol

Lol.

A lot of west coast teams fans just don’t get to see a lot of Pens games. And I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t watch a game that was on a 5-6pm. East coast fans can just stay up alittle later to watch west coast games. Although alot don’t. They are in bed by then.

The past week when posting ACGM’s with ZAR, I’ve been getting the most mixed reactions. Most west coasts fan arnt familiar. Say “ why do I want a guy with 10 points”. And 9 goals as his season career high. And then east coast teams fans immediately say “deal”. We’ll take ZAR. And Pens fans say “we arnt trading ZAR for that”..lol.

It’s the most mix bag of opinions on a player that I’ve seen.

And I was thinking kind of the opposite in this ACGM. ZAR and Compher are similar and Kappy and Jost are.
