Detroit has 0 use for Nate Schmidt, He'll be 31 starting next season making $5,950,000 x 3 he's too expensive and doesn't fit our rebuild timeline. Would rather go after Marcus Pettersson younger and cheaper. besides it's doubtful Schmidt would even waive for Detroit.

Detroit needs two left side defenders this offseason. We could go after both Pettersson and Schmidt. Pettersson is rock solid defensively and Schmidt can QB the second PP. Three years is actually an ideal timeframe for bringing in Edvinsson and Johansson without exposing them.

Both Johansson and Edvinsson should ideally start in Grand Rapids next season and this would give us a serviecable defence until next TDL when Oesterle is traded away and they can be started to rotate in.

I'd seriously consider this offer.
