Description

Over-all a slightly better than mediocre TDL.
-Appleton in is a plus
-Beaulieu out is a plus
-Little’s contract out is a plus on cap
-Smith out is a plus, as he refused to sign
-Barron in is a plus
-Nogier out is meh
-Phillips in is meh
-Copp return only equals out if the one 2nd becomes a 1st… otherwise it’s a loss.
-Sanford in is a loss

More minor pluses than minor mehs, or losses, but the big move is currently a loss unless we can get that 1st.

Addressing the D was a big need and Chevy didn’t do a damn thing there

I don't really know what Chevy is doing, I assume he's buying?

I would agree with you that Sanford in is a loss. He's been bad for Ottawa but who knows maybe he will do well here.

I don't think Chevy was ever going to be a big seller at TDL. If he was then what he did in the offseason would be considered a failure and he would be fired at the end of the season. I am actually happy that he did trade Copp because if he didn't we would lose him to free agency. 2-2nd's for a player that is one hit away from another concussion and for a player that wants a big payday is a win. Let someone else take that risk. If Appleton can return to last years form then losing Copp won't hurt so much.

The defense was never addressed when Schmidt was acquired. You can't get a Top4 dman for just a 3rd. Schmidt plus should be traded for a true Top 4. Hoping Severson doesn't want to resign in Jersey.

Demelo/Heinola or Stanley
Dillion has done good but it is time for Samberg to step up. Trade Dillion in the off season.
