Certainly an easy pass on Gauthier as we are stacked with LD in our prospect pool. We need size up front and definitely don’t pass on the opportunity at getting Musty at 26. Gauthier is actually a RW. Where did you get LD from?

Its a good line combo, but Zadina needs a change of scenery. Ottawa also needs a young goal-scorer like him to complement Stutzle and Tkachuk.

I don't know why GMS seem to care about size. Skating is what matters. If anything, the people that will drop are Dvorsky, Yager, and Cristall.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JoeROFLCOPTER</b></div><div>Danielson 9 and Simashev 17 would be a cruddy draft considering our needs.</div></div>
I have Benson and Honzek going to the Red Wings. Though if Benson ain't available, the 9th pick would be Willander.
EDIT: Also, Briere and Keith Jones love ASP, just like the Canucks. If ASP ain't available to the Canucks, the pick would be Danielson.
Am I a bad person for thinking that Cristall won't be a first round pick?

Sale is ranked 20th on my board. Has been inconsistent and is a liability in his own end. Also 90% of the teams are addressing by need, i can totally see Sale be drafted between the 10th to 25th range.

Bonk is better than both but the lowest he will be taken is Seattle. I prefer Molendyk cause hes better defensively which is more valuable than offense. Price is the opposite of Molendyk.

My Blues haul should be Moore, Lindstein, and Molendyk.
Based off the way this mock is going, Detroit gets Honzek. Stevie Y has been scouting him a lot.

Brindley is a worse version of Cristall so i agree. Bonk will go higher than both. Also the red wings steal benson if hes available.

Michkov nhl arrival: 3 years
Dvorsky and benson nhl arrival: maybe nhl ready, at most 1 year
Picked benson cause of skating
Benson will be in the NHL sooner than Michkov, size really doesnt matter

Montreal is actually targeting leonard as per rumors. Arizona likes reinbacher and the flyers love asp. But if reinbacher is available the flyers take him

2023 Round 1 with trades/player descriptions
Rumors ive heard:
Fantilli could drop to 3rd or 4th cause of his numbers at international tournaments being so low. I dont agree with that statement
Columbus is reportedly interested in Will smith
Sharks are more than willing to trade the 4th pick
Montreal loves Leonard
Arizona had their guy last year in Cooley, this year their guy is Reinbacher
Flyers want a defender with their pick, the guy they like is Sandin-Pelikka
Washington wants to address their top 6 during the draft, you nailed it with Dvorsky
Yzerman loves Moore, Honzek, and Willander
Vancouver wants a center
My top 15 mock:
1. Bedard
2. Fantilli
3. Smith
4. Carlsson (if the pick isnt traded)
5. Leonard
6. Reinbacher
7. ASP
8. Could be dvorsky, but i think Benson is better
9. Moore
10. Dvorsky
11. Danielson
12. Gulyayev
13. Willander
14. Perreault
15. Barlow

Flyers currently love Sandin-Pelikka and want to build their franchise from the blue line. I love Wood, but the Flyers won't draft him and it would be a big reach.

Draft surprises
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pavelisgoat</b></div><div>Yeah, this is brilliant. I went through this with a fine tooth comb and really agree with a lot. Asp dropping being one of your bigger surprises, and I can see a realistic reality where it happens. I was much much higher on Willander and Reinbacher than Asp. Am hopeful that the wings can get one of those 2, but Leonard is one of my most coveted so I’m not complaining. Intrigued by Wahlberg as well. Not putting anything past Yzerman with that 17 oa pick. I’m trying to find a player, surprise or not that I can suggest in a different place, but hard pressed to find one. Maybe Gulyaev at 10 is early but we will see</div></div>
I also have Willander and Reinbacher higher than ASP on my draft rankings. Reinbacher at #6, Willander at #11, ASP at #13. Ignore the Russian factor, Gulyayev is top 10 talent.

Draft surprises
Finally some Wahlberg and Willander respect. Another surprise name to throw into the first round would be Gavin McCarthy. Defense alone, he's worth the first round. Whether or not his offense can translate to the NHL level is a question mark however. I do expect him to be taken anywhere from 15 to 32.
Detroit is currently scouting Moore, Willander, and Honzek.
Keith Jones wants to build the team from the blue line and are really high on Sandin-Pelikka.
Montreal is also reportedly high on Reinbacher and Dvorsky, Hughes has been into them since the start of the season.
Fantilli at 2nd wouldn't be no surprise. I wouldn't even be shocked if they went with Michkov.
EDIT: I do love how your mocks are not the same boring mocks. I love how different it is.

Very well put together mock though. Love the insight</div></div>
Thank you. Simashev would be the guy if the Maple Leafs decide to play it safe. If they want to go buzzworthy, the pick is Fimis.
