First 2024 Mock with Trades
Gotta love and appreciate the effort on this one, seems like you did your research on everything well.
That being said, I don’t see Igor Chernyshov being high on Toronto’s list - at least the people I know that work for the team haven’t mentioned his name a lot.
Treliving typically doesn’t draft a lot of Russians and Chernyshov doesn’t fit his style of play. He’s more of a skilled playmaker and perimetre player whereas Treliving values the bigger, stronger, meaner guys earlier on in the draft and typically saves the skilled players for later in the draft as project picks.
I’ve heard they’re keeping an eye on Charlie Elick - a big, strong skating right handed defender playing for Brandon in the WHL. & that seems to not only fit Treliving’s draft history style, but also the team needs. Elick should eventually round out as a solid #3 or #4 defender that plays a push back style game - it’s something the Leafs don’t have a single prospect in the system that plays that way at that position so I gotta believe my sources are right that Elick is high on their board. If he’s available, gotta think Treliving runs to the podium to get him

I like the write-up...and draft analysis
On Markstrom, Pinto alone would be a steal for Calgary. Or the 8th overall pick alone would be as well.
If they are paying to move Korpisalo and are getting retention on Markstrom....maybe 8th/Korp for retained Marky.
On the Chicago/Seattle pick move -- the difference between #2 and #4 is probably more than a late 2nd pick. Its likely twice that.
According to the <a href="https://puckpedia.com/pickvalue" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Puckpedia Calculator</a>, the difference is equivalent to the #23 overall pick.
According to the <a href="https://cdn.theathletic.com/app/uploads/2020/05/06155402/Screen-Shot-2020-05-05-at-4.55.33-PM.png" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Athletic Pick Value Chart</a>, the difference is equivalent to the #26 overall pick.

Let ChatGPT rank the 2020 Draft
If I’m not mistaking, ChatGPT’s databank is outdated to 2020, so the only info he has about those players is pre draft info and maybe like 3 months of 2020-2021 season

I just realized Connely is listed at 155 pound and 6.1.
That is NOT the shape of a hockey player!
(also as always a good read, the effort you put is always appreciated and its nice to see how your board devellop trought time. i remember last year you were one of the first to predict the top 4 accurately.

Mock with some Hot Takes Top 50 With Big Analysis
I mean this is certainly a hot take lol. And I'm not sure any NHL scout would agree. I think this is like people ranking Michkov over Bedard last year.
From a Sharks perspective, Levshunov is the right pick at 3, but that 16th overall pick doesn't make much sense. You said Sharks need a defensive forward, when they're stacked at that. They have Zetterlund (not a prospect) but they have Bystedt and Edstrom who are both 200 ft centers, as well as Cardwell and Graf who are 200 ft. wingers. Not to mention Eklund is unreal defensively.
Other notes, i think Parekh, Catton, Helenius and Greentree would be HUGE steals with where you have them. I can't see Parekh or Catton dropping out of the top 10 (could see both as high as top 5), and Helenius and Greentree as top 16

Parekh won't be around at anything past 12 in my opinion.
You also have Eiserman going much higher than I do.
Artamonov will probably go in the first round as well.
I could see a team selecting Demidov first but not the sharks. The sharks need a Franchise center. I could see someone like Arizona or Ottawa taking Demidov first overall with the center depth they both have. Although Arizona probably takes Celebrini because he would a savior for the franchise.

I believe there is a workd where demidov is #1 in rankings but im not sold there is a workd where he is # in mock drafts.
Teams will most likely go for the center i feel!

Very good list. As a Bednarik lover this entire draft season I really think he goes top 20. A team out there will see his play and "reach" then look smart for it

I really don't see the Habs picking up a LD, we have Guhle, Hutson, Matheson, Struble, Engstrom, Xhekaj, Harris, about the last thing we need is a LD, Catton or Eiserman would likely be the pick
