Offseason

Created by: BruinsFan35
Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 22, 2022
Published: Mar. 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let's say that the Bruins are close, but not close enough and fail to win the cup, getting booted in the second or third round. This offseason will pave the way to the LAST shot the Bruins have at winning with this core, but they also need to be mindful of the few prospects that they have when deciding whether to go all-in. I think that we need to build up as much as possible without sacrificing our futures in trades. Our defense is set, no need to add at all. It's the forwards that need bolstering, and DeBrusk will most likely be moved, opening up a glaring spot in the top six. Cap space is tight (thanks Nick Foligno) but there should be some decent options in 3-5 mil range. I picked Kessel on a 1 year prove-it deal with hopes that he rebounds offensively but I think some other options would be Reilly Smith, Ondrej Palat, Mason Marchment, or Andre Burakovsky.

Trades
1.
BOS
  1. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
Additional Details:
Traded at the Draft. DeBrusk's value will go up if he continues to light it up with Marchand and Bergeron, especially if it can translate to the playoffs. Late first for a team looking to add pieces around two of the best players in the game.
2.
BOS
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Grizz is expendable and more expensive than Ahcan, who looks ready for at least a rotational role, Clifton, and Zboril combined, Move him now to clear cap space for a forward.
SEA
  1. Grzelcyk, Matt
Additional Details:
Not sure if the Kraken will be looking to add to their team for next season, or if they will ice a bad team in hopes of getting a top pick in 2023. If they are looking to add to their blue line, Grzelcyk would add a lot of speed and puck moving ability to the back end that Seattle could definitely use. If they don't look to add, this could be any team for a second round pick.

    Nope. I hate stupidity.

LOL...I went to that comparison site, picked a different 3 year span and DeBrusk was much better. Lack of perspective that leads to arguments is a constant on this platform! I'm sure CD282 has strong feelings for his/her convictions but I'm also sure he/she lacks perspective based on his/her statements in the above thread.
