      Additional Details:
After selling Lindholm at the 2022 TDL , I think the Ducks needs 1-2 more year of semi-rebuild to be in place where they need to be .Comtois after a disappointing season : trade him for mid value between a year ago and his actual value . Maybe be able to upsell Drouin at 2023 TDL.

Draft day trade , Drouin desperatly needs a change of scenary so he's got little to no value. I don't see Poehling's future in Monteal under MSL , but he still got potential for a top 9 forward.

Just like you said, Comtois is having a down year while Anaheim is a year or two out from being a playoff team — why would we trade Comtois for such little value then? Why wouldn’t we just hang on to him and bet on our own player that he regains form along with the team? I think the worst thing that comes from it is that he turns into a 4th line guy that has offensive upside

Chiarot wont take a pay decrease to stay with us, for 5 years I would expect Romy to want at least 4mil AAV

The way I see it , you invested a 50th overall pick in Comtois , a steal if he'll be playing like a year ago , but a dud if this year is the real him . I'm willing to gamble on his potential . So you get back; a 65ish pick that has , let's say, a 25% chance of becoming a top 9 forward on your team ; Drouin , who also has a disappointing year because of injuries, but his talents are undeniable and you can still sell him at the deadline for recup assets ; and Poehling who's already a bottom 9 forward .

      P.S I just saw, I meant a 2nd rounder not a third

Martinez is off LTIR and played today.
Seattle didn't want price for free, they aren't going to pay for him.
No reason for Anaheim to get older with Drouin.
Pittsburgh is not trading first round picks, plus Petry likely doesn't get that.
Calgary probably has better options with monohan.

Calgary and Seattle decline, Letang wants $7,000,000 x 5 years. And no team is giving up that much for Jeff petry.

I don’t think there is a logical way VVerbeek trades Comtois away — I think he is the type of player he really likes when he is rollin’

While being in and out of the lineup as well as playing through injury — not saying he could have been better thus far but he has also not been out in places to succeed until very recently where you can see his game improving back to form
