I’m fine with wood for 1 year but not at 3 with that deal

It's a bridge deal cause his next contract will probably be as an Ufa. Gives him enough to be happy, but not enough to be satisfied. Hopefully gives him motivation to earn the next contract.

We need more defensive help and smith is a liability. Besides both pairs I could see going in and out of the lineup and there will always be injuries.

1-year deal would take him to unrestricted free agency. Got to at least buy one of his UFA years. He is worth $3m+ if healthy.
