Losing culture fix

Description
The only cure for a losing culture is winning games. Devils clean house on the coaching staff, bring in new and progressive options who prefer concepts to systems (Gronborg or similar, see NHLfan10506 for ideas), and aggressively fix their goaltending. Have no idea what a Blackwood trade looks like at this point.

Don't love trading multiple firsts like this but the players coming back are worth it imo.

(I think the concept of a losing culture is dumb. the devils would be a fine team with better goaltending despite being the youngest in the league and its wild that people can't see that)

Minnesota isn't trading fiala to take on miles wood. With all due respect no. You are also asking a team to wait till you make playoffs before you trade a 1st round pick, not sure that goes over will. Ottawa fans are willing to give up top 10 protected this year

overpay for chychrun a top 5 pick a starting goalie a roster player a former first and a middle pairing young d man that’s to much for a rebuilding team

Not sure what you mean by “take on” wood. He’s one of the best bottom 6 players in the league. The value on this, wood + 1st + potential 2nd is pretty high but yes, Ottawa /fans/ have offered more.

Yeah I added two starting goalies here. I hate chase Stillman. Chychrun is better than smith will ever be.

I’m not big on stillman either but I still don’t want to deal a top 5 pick for someone we have gaurenteed for 3 years

Minnesota has no need or room for miles wood..so with all due respect, wild wouldn't accept him in a trade

My apologies for seeing the 3 expiring forward contracts and replacements not as good as Wood and assuming the Wild could use him for at least two years of cup contention with your massive buyouts destroying your cap situation.

What WOULD the wild accept?

Fiala is the only major piece they would be losing bjustad I'd nothing. He hasn't played since Minnesota acquired Nic D. Not sure what you are seeing but Minnesota has Adam Beckman and connor dewar in Iowa. They can also resign nic d for the last forward spot on the 4th line. They will play Adam Beckman or whoever they acquire in Fiala trade with Boldy or sign a winger. Minnesota has Alot of choices instead of taking on a restricted free agent in miles wood.
Change out miles wood and add someone else. Also change the 2023 pick to unprotected and 2022, to top 10

My bad for assuming that Miles Wood, who has scored 17 goals in 56 games last year, might be better than Beckman and Dewar.

Also, no. You’re grossly overestimating the return you’ll get for a player who you cannot afford to keep. A first and wood is plenty value and I’m even adding an addition top 50 pick in the case that the devils miss the playoffs in the most loaded draft since 2015. The homerism here is unreal.

Then keep miles wood and pay him..Minnesota will keep fiala and trade elsewhere. You are talking about same miles wood who also just returned from major hip surgery? Miles wood has zero goals thus year because he's played like two games. So Don't bring up the past to increase his value
