Love the defense here but the forwards are just essentially the same and will struggle to score. Need a top line winger not a middle 6

It's been reported that Edmonton's on Varlamov's NTC so that's a no-go (I also think you should get a least a 2nd & a B-tier prospect for him.)

Arizona technically can't trade that 3rd they're sending back since it's a conditional pick from last year's Andrew Ladd trade. I also don't get the idea of swapping 3rd in the Bailey-Ghost trade - I think Arizona would take Bailey as a good contract for them (paying $3.5M for a $5M cap hit), but you probably have to throw them something of value for Ghost. Their main goal in getting these bad contract guys is giving them the chance to rebuild value and flipping them back out for something - so they get a sweetener to take the bad contract on, and if the player rebuilds their value, they get something extra shipping them out.

$4M for a 36-year-old Paul Stastny is a little rich for my blood. Zach Parise basically put up 75-80% of the production that Stastny did (35 pts vs 45 pts, played PP & PK, positive relative possession numbers) for 20% of the cost. Just get Parise off the bench and use that money elsewhere.

Leddy probably is rumored to be looking for a 4 year deal, so I don't think he signs that. I think you'd be fine just giving that LD3 spot to Robin Salo and maybe signing an inexpensive UFA to be your 7th D and fill in occasionally.

Halak looked washed - I would try and pursue someone like Scott Wedgewood or Eric Comrie to fill the backup spot if you trade Varlamov.

As for Leddy, I meant to do a 3 year deal
