Its optimistic for sure, but it's also essentially 3 1st round picks (since montreal is picking 33rd with that 2nd round pick). They might need to throw in sean farrell or josh roy or norlinder to sweeten the deal, but if NJ isn't that high on Slaf, I could see them moving back to have a guy like Anderson who instantly improves their top 6 and is an impact player in the postseason.

Thoughts on Anderson, Norlinder, Poehling and MTL 2nd for second overall?

I don't think the brass has given up on Poehling and Norlinder yet, however Gorton and Hughes were not the ones that drafted them, so I don't think there is that same attachment. If they have soured on those 2 players already, that would likely be an acceptable offer because we have a surplus of LHD prospects, and I struggle to see how Poehling leaps over Suzuki, Wright, Dvorak, and even Evans in the coming years.
