I don't think having McLeod on the 4th line is good for his growth, and if we do re-sign Kane, we wouldn't need the KHL star. But given those things, I still think this is decent.

So don't sign Kuzmenko, move Mcleod to Leo's wing and sign a 4th centre, someone rough and tough to play with Deslauriers?

Good idea, but I would rather have Nuge up in the top 6, and have McLeod at 3C with hollow and Derek, I feel like he's ready to do that and Derek Ryan is a calm playing vet that is good at wing and can be a mentor to the 2 young guys, just imo.

You're not getting a 2nd for Barrie, and NO picks at all in this draft. If Seattle swings and misses in free agency, Barrie might be a consideration, but we know Oilers need to clear cap, so why should we pay our more valuable draft capital for a one-dimensional, diminished asset whose numbers are inflated from playing PP1 with elite players?

you don't get the positive piece of a trade from a cap dump. all you get is the money room
