Description

Not an Avs fan, but I tried to assess their cap crunch the best way I could. If I forgot any depth guys or if I did anything wrong, let me know. Ranta and Maltev push for a roster spot as well. As a Hab fan, Kulak is criminally underrated and tbh i think he can be super reliable 3rd pairing guy for COL for a few years to come.

Erik Johnson, J.T. Compher and Giroux all have one year left, so the Avs can just let them walk next summer. Not including the fact that the cap will likely rise a bit next summer, this would leave them with AT LEAST 22.1M to re-sign Nathan MacKinnon, Bowen Byram and Alex Newhook, which is probably enough tbh. Their remaining cap space would probably be used to shore up their depth assuming Newhook will be ready to make the jump to 2C. If more cap space is needed, one of Girard/Kulak would be expendable then.

i think youre too low on a few contracts but given the cap space you have i think it will work.

If you have that cap space they're better off just resigning Kuemper instead of taking a chance on Husso

True but I wanted to make sure they aren’t screwed cap-wise the following season. They can also use that money to get good rentals i guess
