Rationale: Chris Drury has stated #2 C is top priority. I agree, Most Talked About Candidates: Copp - Trocheck - Dubois - Gourde - / First Attribute I'm looking for is Career Face-Off % - Trocheck 52.1% - Copp 51.8% - Gourde 48.3% - Dubois 44.6% - // Productivity (Goals - Assists Points) in 21-22 --- Looking for 50-60 pts // Dubois - 28-32-60 - Copp 21-32-53 - Trocheck 21-30-51 - Gourde 21-27-48 (eliminated: plus I have to trade something to get him and I believe he is the oldest.). Although Dubois provides the most productivity, he is not a face off winner. For me Copp (1) and Trocheck (2) are my picks. Copp is already in the fold. Whoever you pick, their productivity should get a boost of at least 1-15 centering for the Breadman for full season. Target price $5.5M Term: 5 years. ----- Goal: Charlie Lindgren -Not a long resumé, but good stats. With the Ranger D in front of him, he should do quite well. Ryan's older brother should fit right in at minimal cost. David Rittich the next best option. Target price $800K Term 2 years. ---- #2 RW Kappo hope he stays $2.25M 2 year bridge. Vitali gets his shot // Third line (Kid Line II - Othmann - Chytil - Kravtsov) -- some other comments about this. I'm not optimistic about Vitali so if that happens shuffle the deck; Blais at 3rd RW and Brodzinski for 4th RW - Hunt to #4 LW. I am well aware of Othmann's ELS status, but there was a lot of buzz about him and Cuylle at last years and even more so now after the numbers they both put up in the OHL in 21-22. Those who cover the team have been hinting in the last week or so that this is a possibility. At a minimum, both men will be given a serious look. Othmann has the edge going in. At 175 lbs. Othmann is a "light-heavyweight", but so is a guy named Johnny Gaudreau. Othmann is slotted at 3rd RW on the basis he earns a spot at training camp. Cuylle is a potentail option. Finally, 3rd Pair LD. Continuing with the bring up the kids and play them theme - Nils and Zach are the two candidates. Play em' both, give both a fair shot, let the games begin. Ranger management has specialized in overpaying, usually for talent that is past it's sell by date, or inked god awful contract, at lauche in-house taled out the torpedo tube just we they breaking out (most recent debacle - Pavel Buchnevich. I think Laffy and Filip are ready to break out. I'm less certain about Kappo (I would like to see him break the 50 games played barrier, hope that Vitali surprises, ditto for Zach and Nils.
