Description

Not a fan of all teams but will give it my best shot. I'm going to try to stay as realistic as possible but you know how that goes. Ill remember each move so teams don't get the same players. Wish me luck. Thank you.

I decided to move Fowler over Vatanen. Fowler is more expendable to me for a couple reasons. Reason 1;
Top 10 Prospects- Anaheim has multiple left handed shot defensemen coming through the ranks. Guys like Larsson, Pettersson, Mahura and even Theodore who just graduated to the NHL. They have less right handed shot defensemen coming up. The only one really is Montour which can take over some playing time from Bieksa.
2. Fowler is UFA after 17-18 and he's going to demand a little more than Vatanen. With others also needing to be signed I would steer away from tying too much money into Fowler with valuable options in the system for his slot.

Ew why did you do that to the defense. Stoner AND Bieksa playing. AND ON THE SAME PAIRING. Seriously get it right. Vatanen is traded not Fowler. If Fowler is traded then Despres or Larsson will be playing. Pairing would be:

Lindholm-Montour
Despres-Vatanen
Theodore-Manson
Bieksa as 7th DMan.

Someone please tell me why Vatanen is traded instead of Fowler. Maybe I'm missing something. Why would management choose a more expensive LHD when they have an abundance of good LHD prospects? They lack on the right side and you have cheap control of Vatanen.

P.s please save the "Fowler will resign with ANA" stuff. I already understand that. This is more of a business decision than "who I like more" decision.

In my opinion it has more to do with return. Teams always look for mobile RHD and Vatanen has term. Fowler would either need to sign an extension and then be traded to get good value, or they'd have to take less because of the 1 year.

Plus the FO and coaching staff seems to really like him, which would in turn balloon the asking price for him. And what they'd ask for would probably be more than what anyone would want to pay. So it would just be easier to trade Vatanen, who they do have a replacement for in Montour.
