Rebuilding teams like Anaheim, Arizona and Seattle that won't get near the playoffs in 2023 without buying tickets aren't generally the teams that are interested in rentals like Holl, Kerfoot and Simmonds. It's contenders at the trade deadline who need depth due to injury or poor performance that overpay for decent players like the first two in particular.
