Johnny In Provy Out

Created by: BoredWildFan
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 12, 2022
Published: Jul. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think we all assume Ellis is heading to LTIR.
Even with Johnny this team probably misses the playoffs in 2023.
With that in mind, instead of giving up a first to move JVR, Fletcher should move Provorov an in attempt to gain a first (and more) in 2023.
JVR comes off the books next year leaving roughly 16 million to resign Sanheim, York and Free agents.

?????? Kings gave up a lot less to acquire 5 years of the superior Fiala. Kings don't really have the cap for Provorov. Besides 6.75m for a LHD can be spent better without trades good inexpensive assets.

Kings can be any team. It’s more about moving a player for plus assets than giving away assets to jettison JVR. Also, I don’t think a 1st and Faber is a lot less than a 1st and 2nd. Walker is decent, but LA is pretty set on the right side.

Sorry, "any team" isn't really an option. Few teams have...except bottom feeders, have the cap to take on Provorov. And really he isn't that special especially at 6.75m. LHD and LW are the easiest positions to fill. So many teams want to dump cap, and few buyers, 6.75m can be spend on a UFA better than Provorov and teams don't have to give up assets.

Would require the Kings to move on from Iafallo as well but the trade value seems reasonable for the kings knowing Philly has to clear cap space (similar to fiala deal). If THG thinks Provorov would be a great fit in LA I would consider it. Maybe the Kings use part of the asset from an Iafallo deal to get a 3rd team to retain salary.
