Since Buchnevich is exempt from the expansion draft, I don't think the Rangers would trade him for a draft eligible player Pysck, who might be selected if available.

Speaking of which....Ekblad. I wonder if Ekbald with his concussion issues and therefore play should be protected. 7.5m is a lot of cap and that money could spend on other players eventually, and the Panthers could therefore could protect Pysck. I don't know if Vegas would select the Ekblad anyway. We can have this discussion is during the next 8 of year of Ekblad's new deal but unless he is top 10 NHL Dman, maybe it isn't money well spent.

Don't think Rangers would want to part with Buchnevich for Pysyk. Trading Bjugstad for pick #23 doesn't seem like a good enough return for him. Like the signings of Hanzal and Purcell. Kane adds scoring on the wing in case Marchessault can't repeat what he did this season. Quincey a good 6th or 7th D. Overall, well done.
