No need for Bozak, and you’re not getting that much for Pettersson you’re not even close. and it’s gonna cost more for Tanev with retention that trade just makes no sense.

Garland for Marino feels like a good swap. Would be sad to see Garly go though

Pettersson is a top 4 defenseman by every metric, if you take less than a 2nd rounder for him you're giving him away. Also the Tanev trade only costs Seattle $1 mil in cap space for the next three years and considering Tanev only played 30 games last year, getting two draft picks and a player of almost equal value is pretty generous

Why would you trade Pettersson for a draft pick when the team is in win now mode?

GMRH said he’s gonna try and trade our surplus defensemen for forwards or futures

Pettersson is number 4 on fringe playoff teams at best. and he has a horrible contract. you have to remember the fact that we’re trading him to get rid of his contract. because of that his value goes down…

I really don't understand how $4 mil is a terrible contract for a top 4 defenseman, that seems to be the going rate actually based on the contracts signed. And lets say he is a "fringe" top 4 defenseman like you said, he's only 25 years old! Defensemen usually come into their prime in their late 20s which is right around the corner for him. Anything less than a 2nd rounder is a steal for another team.mp2.JPG
