Description

Buyout Lucic - team doesn't need to anymore...but doing so adds extra $667k to Edmonton cap. So that plus grievance award to Kane could add $2.5M on cap & make them lose both Yamamoto & Pulljarvi.
Overpay Laine just because to make life for Columbus harder.
Let Tkachuk walk to free agency next year...like Flames love to do. Same for Magiapane/Kylington.
Otherwise lean in to buyouts & reshaping team for 1 year at a time philosophy & be set to either compete for division title or have things go poorly & be obscure for next decade...so not much change.
