Two years of Henrique is worth more than one year of Kerfoot, Shattenkirk is worth more than Holl, the retention on Henrique is worth a LOT more than Muzzin and his massive $5.625 million cap hit, and Joey Anderson isn't any more likely to make our team than he is yours.

Not a whole lot of incentive there for Anaheim to accept that offer.

How much use does a rebuilding team have for Henrique?? Kerfoot is due only approx.. 775k in real dollars and can be flipped for a 2nd or two 3rds at the deadline. Muzzin is only due 6 MM over the next two years and he offers a ton of value on a young team. Muzzin can also be flipped at 24' deadline for a decent pick. Not a bad deal for Anaheim.

We have a lot more use for Henrique than we do for Kerfoot.

Last season Kerfoot scored 51 points in 82 games: just under 0.62 points per game. Last season Henrique scored 42 points in 58 games: 0.72 points per game.
Over the past two seasons Kerfoot scored 74 points in 138 games: 0.53 points per game. Over the past two seasons Henrique scored 63 points in 103 games: 0.61 points per game.
And there are certain subtle indications that Kerfoot played on a better team than Henrique.

Muzzin just isn't worth a $5.625 million cap hit, no matter how you Toronto guys try to justify it, and that's especially true of non-contending teams. Is Muzzin going to carry Anaheim to a playoff slot this season, or next? So how is having an expensive veteran offering "a ton of value" to a young, developing, rebuilding team? Is he going to get us from 31 wins to 36? That'll bring us to within 10% of the season of a playoff berth.

No, it IS a bad deal for Anaheim.

Very interesting. So by your logic, I'd have to conclude that Henrique's cap hit of 5.825 MM is not worth it especially for a non-contending team like Anaheim or Henrique must be way better than I thought. To me, Henrique's value is that he raises his game when it counts and not to be overly blunt but I don't see him playing meaningful hockey ie playoffs for you guys. Your team will be pretty good eventually but not likely in the next two years.

You've also lost the plot with Muzzin. No need for a Toronto guy like me to justify anything as the fact is he's due only 6 MM (less than his cap hit) over the next two years. Nonetheless with cap space north of 20 MM, you guys should manage. Muzzin's value for your team goes beyond wins and losses as he can pass on his experience and aid in the development of your younger guys.

The more I think of it, this would be a stupid good trade for Anaheim.

Yes, my position is exactly that Henrique would not be worth it to a non-contending team.

We have plenty of leadership on the defense with Fowler and Shattenkirk.

And I know what would help my team better than you do.

I think I would take Henrique's money and give it to Nino Niederreiter. Niederreiter has similar offensive output, is bigger, 2 years younger and plays physical. He is also a UFA allowing the assets to be moved for draft picks or prospects.

It means you will be playing Holl instead of Shattenkirk but them's the breaks when the team is top heavy with salary.

Dont crush their fan boy hopes with sense and reality

I just saw (10:50 p.m. Pacific time) a Toronto post created by a Toronto fan who made the very first comment to it -- criticizing the one trade he himself had made. I had to log off and log back on again to make sure I hadn't lost my mind.
