Big Offseason

Created by: pensfan21
Team: 2023-24 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 25, 2022
Published: Jul. 25, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
While I think we have a good shot this year (despite having some reservations about age and the bottom 6) I think we have an even better chance next free agency to improve the team and add some youth. I think this could give us a couple more years to contend after.

Agreed. Pens should have considerable cap space if POJ and Ty Smith can fill in the left side.

Prices look good except Barbashev. I just think that won’t be enough. In that case bump a young kid up instead of Milano and sign a vet 4th liner to go with the kids.

True, I could also see Miller giving us a hometown discount, maybe would take something in the 7 mil range.
