Sharks After TDL

Created by: Phippsy87
Team: 2022-23 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 29, 2022
Published: Jul. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
DISCLAIMER: The Dallas hill trade is suppose to be a 4th rounder not a 3rd (typo lol)

Overall I think the Sharks will bottom feed with potentially a top 3 in there grasp if for guys like Eklund & Bordeleau are given time to marinate in the NHL but the one year ELC off Bordeleau leads there to be no purpose in him down there unless he just starts down in the AHL.

Overall I think the lines will run like this to start the season:

Barabanov-Hertl-Meier
Eklund-Couture-LaBanc
Lindblom-Bonino-Kunin
Gregor-Sturm-Lorentz

Extra: Nieto & Gadjovich

Ferraro-Karlsson
Vlasic-Merkley
Nutivaara-Benning

Extra: Simek

Kahkonen
Hill

Pre-Season:
just a break down
first line: don’t fix what aint broke
second line: hopefully LaBanc can have a bounce back and also give Couture some actual wingers
third line: could be Bordeleau down the middle if he impresses
fourth line: honestly gregor can play up and some winger can play down but sturm and lorentz are there to hold on the 4th line

1st pair: Id like to see how this would go
2nd pair: pickles & merkley played alright together last year so id like to see this happen again if it fails move ferraro down and see if Knyzhov is ready as i think he needs time to find his game after a year and a half off
3rd Pair: simek/nutivaara/benning just what ever its pretty bad

Goalies: I think u sharks fans know what ur getting I think Hill gets moved soon and hopefully Kaapo claims his net and then move reimer at TDL and give dell the time to hit a few more forwards idk lmao

TDL:
Sharks workout they are bottom feeders of course and move Nieto, Reimer, Bonino, Nutivaara as well as if Meier isn’t re-signed or your he won’t commit long term, move him but I think the sharks over time will get an extension done…. Also may broke some deals taking salary

Cudda Lineup Prediction (Start of szn)

Gushchin-Bordeleau-Veronneau
Weatherby-Reedy-Wiesblatt
Viel-Robins-Coe
Suess-Agozzino-Raska

Megna-Hatakka
Kniasev-Knyzhov
Cicek-Onyebuchi

Mann
Mäkeniemi
Dell

I think guys like Reedy, Veronneau, Viel, Raska, Hatakka, Megna, Kniasev will get the fair share of cups of coffee with Bordeleau and Knyzhov playing more regularly in the NHL.

Trades
1.
SJS
  1. Bar, Jack [Reserve List]
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
(Pre-Season trade) With holtby set to retire and Otter leading the way in the net and the lack of trust of Anton Kuhdobin whos contract is a negative dallas will set out to find a backup.
2.
SJS
  1. 2023 4th round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
(TDL Move) St. Louis looks for a deep playoff run and get a vet 4th liner with cup winning experience to help with the run.
3.
SJS
  1. 2023 4th round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
(TDL Trade) Same case here I think Tampa of course will go deep and I know they love special team players and they lost a lot of depth after last year so I think Nieto will be a good piece for them that kills off penalties efficently.
4.
SJS
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
(TDL Trade) I have a feeling samsonov or murray may struggle and I think Dubas may feel the pressure of his job so I think they look to a vetran who posts up good numbers to help them in the playoff run. At max I think he goes for a 3rd because goalies dont tend to go for much.
TOR
  1. Reimer, James ($1,000,000 retained)
5.
SJS
  1. 2023 7th round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
(TDL Deal) Any team needing depth doesnt have to be NYR

True that is fair, I dont know how much id trust him tho I just felt this past season hes had the hot hand and hasnt shown much else to show that is sustainable but you never know he could blossom in to a solid backup. maybe a team like COL could be an opiton as there tandem currently really only looks like Georgiev and Francouz, which francouz cant stay really healthy as much....

I’ll pass I’m not taking the legendary goat James Reimer, leaf’s already have 2 goalies and pretty good 3rd goalie as well.

Yes you do have two goalies, but the leafs are betting on a lot and remember this is a TDL trade..... Murray has been good but has absolutely sucked over the past few years, samsonov was horrible in wsh last year and is extremly young and plenty to learn. Källgren I like but he wouldnt last in playoffs thats why I think the leafs would love a guy like Reimer as hes proven has had amazin numbers on a **** team and could help your playoff push it also makes sense as the leafs have inquired on him before.

At least when Wedgewall was acquired to replace Holtby he did admirably well.

I trust he's able to play around 30 games a year with solid performance.
