The trade is pretty even if not a little bit on Vancouver’s side given that Nashville’s 1st round pick should be in the 20-23 range. The thing is that Nashville is running out of nhl ready right handed d-men. Ekholm or McDonagh would have to play on the right side in the top 4 I would assume.

I don't know that Poile is overly concerned with a left-right balance with his defensemen. If he was, it's odd that he traded for McDonagh when NSH already has LD with term like Josi and Ekholm.

Yeah but it’s weird they signed Lauzon to an extension then because they have enough left handed defensive guys who kill penalties. Maybe a Lauzon back to Boston package for Carlo?

No thanks on Carlo. Even if NSH had the cap space for him, not a fan of his contract.
