Description
middle and bottom pair defensemen are treated like gods on this site. there are a few teams that have severe cap and expansion issues and cant take back a salary or a player who would be exposed.

There is also this idea that las vegas will take all cheap contracts in the expansion draft and hit the floor on free agent deals. My question is this, would you rather select a player in the draft with a higher cap hit but less term or would you rather over pay in both cap hit and term in free agency? think about it.

Expansion. Gorges has 1 year left at under 4 million. He can wear a letter, play in a 2nd pair, kill penalties and fetch a pick at the deadline.
    2.
    BUF
    1. Bouwmeester, Jay
    Additional Details:
Pure hockey trade. STL in the market for scoring and Sabres need a LHD. STL has the defensive reinforcements to replace Bouwmeester
    3.
    BUF
    1. 2018 3rd round pick (ARI)
    Additional Details:
Arizona buys low on a 3 time 20 goal scorer who is still in his mid 20s. helps them get to the floor and helps the sabres make room for younger wingers.
    ARI
    1. Ennis, Tyler
    2. 2017 6th round pick (BUF)
    4.
    BUF
    1. Vatanen, Sami
    Additional Details:
Sabres send a premium pick to Anaheim for a 2nd pairing dman. Allows Anaheim to keep their core together, shed some cap and draft a high end forward as perry/getzlaf age. Vatanen is a good player, not a great player, not many teams can fit him in their expansion situation.

I think it's really good but I'd buy out moulson and sign a ufa forward. I'd also look to add another cheaper and younger forward. Overall though, it's good

6 of my 12 forwards are on ELC and 9 of 12 are under 24, how much younger can i get?

    Fellow Sabres fan here:
    1. Reasonable.

    2. I don't dislike the Kane deal, I'd try for something younger (Haydn Fleury from Carolina?), but it makes sense and I'd be ok.

    3. I hope Vegas would do that. Idk if they will. But we can hope. I see them taking Ullmark, unless The Sabres added some combo of a 2bd & 3rd to convince Vegas to take Ennis.

    4. If that was the case I'd just keep Gorges for the year as a #8 and if he has to play give him like 10min/game.

    5. I like the Vatanen trade. I could see Anaheim doing something like this, especially if they ended up winning it all.

    Overall: very nice

    I'd do trade #2
Still no interest in Vatanen in my personal opinion. I think he's not all that good.

-Georges is NOT a 2nd pair defenseman... come on!
We'd have to give them at least a pick to choose Georges over Ullmark or Carrier

-interesting idea with StL... only problem I really see is that I don't think J-bo would waive his NYC to come here

-Ennis has zero trade value right now. 2yrs in a row of injuries & poor play. Our best bet is hoping he can bounce back with us, bc otherwise we can't give him away w that contract & expect anything but a very low pick for him

-I think the Vatanen trade works...
    although I'd rather have Manson

As far as your lines go:
    -Nylander likely not ready yet
-Moulson can't be on the 2nd line, no way
    4th line plus PP2 time
