Re-building On the Fly

Description
With so many seeming ready to change it all up for the Caps, I thought I'd give it go with a re-build on the fly. This is not something that I actually want to do, but seeing the other rebuilds posted, and the value that was received for some really good players on the Caps just absolutely blew my mind. So again, I'd much rather stick with a good core. I believe the team can still improve. Oh well, this is just fantasy land so here goes the rebuild. Honest reviews on the value is welcomed, so tell me what you think!

MTL says no to that deal. Ovie is awesome! but not only does this deal destroy MTLs foreseeable future, it also puts them over the cap by like $6mil, all while still not solving their issues at Center......and honestly I don't think Bergevin is going to move Sergachev unless it's a bonafide #1 Centermen coming back.

How about swaping Ovie with BacKstrom, and WSH take Plekanec's contracts?

      You make a good point
And by no means do I actually want to get rid of Ovi or Backy just giving my shot at a re-build
I have another posted mock offseason where I keep the core

      Question on the cap issue?
Are you saying Montreal goes over assuming they resign Radulov, because in my mind Ovi replaces the need to resign Radulov?

Maybe we scratch Sergachev and add another high draft pick?

You should check out my more realistic post too..
      A much calmer offseason lol...

And also it's so hard to trade Backy from our standpoint
A #1 center at 6.7 million for the next 3 years is hard to let go of

My comments were made with the assumption that Radulov resigns. Would feel like a missed opportunity to acquire Ovie and let Rads go.
