His cap is gold, he will be a stud, he fits our d needs. Pass, again & again. JTM is a player nobody wants around, period. You don't like it, then simply lock him up lol. Your desperation for any stud RD and pushing JTM on them with beautiful stories is embarrassing

Give me a source in 2022 that states Miller is a lockeroom cancer and nobody likes him. Heck find me a source in the last 3 years that shows nobody likes him. On the top of my head, I can find a great clip of Miller hyping up the team in the 2020 playoffs. Everybody seemed to like him, no sign of toxicity. Stop making stupid excuses. You’re probably just upset that Miller didn’t pan out in New York. You as a person is embarrassing if this is how you view people

You’re saying Miller who is a power F who can play all 3 positions & good at FO’s & woulda led the Rags in scoring isn’t worth a 3C an unproven prospect & a late 1st?

Next years cap has nothing to do with a cup run this season. He’s turned into a legit top line player & has more in the tank. They don’t grow on trees.

Then why are Canuck fans so desperate to trade him? Sign him if he's all that.

Nothing against, Lundkvist, but he really doesn’t fit into our d core. He is a small offensive minded d man. We already have those in Hughes, Rathbone, and kinda OEL. He can’t be Hughes’ partner, two 5’10 offensive d men on the first pairing? Nope. Same with Rathbone. Maybe he fits with OEL but what we really need is a defensive d man. That’s why Schneider is a better fit, but your fellow Rags fans claim he is Bobby Orr so he is untouchable I assume

I don't think he's the next Bobby Orr. But I would say he's pretty untouchable. Especially for Hoglander.

Flyer meaning what package? He’s in need of a change of scenery not a key piece. Opportunity needed & hasn’t exactly lit it up in the AHL either.

Let's say Miller and Hoglander. For Chytil, Lundkvist, a first and a second?

I understand that he shouldn’t be moved but the sloth Rangers fans have been hyping him up, it would make me extremely disappointed if he doesn’t turn out to be a top pair d man

I try not too hype anyone up until they play a full season in the NHL.

Idk if it goes through. Canucks already declined Miller for Chytil, Lundkvist, and a first. Maybe their opinion changed but unlikely given how uninterested they were. Much rather have Hoglander over a second round pick. Despite his recent struggles, he was a second round pick and the fact that he has over 100 NHL games played at 21 years old is pretty impressive.

Because his age doesn’t fit the core. Simple as that. Maybe think next time?

Pure nonsense. His next deal will be 7 years long, plenty of time for your "core" to win. You just don't want to own his next contract which will age very poorly, you're just not willing to admit it.

You’re right. Giving him max term contract never ends well. Wow you’re so brilliant! I’m sure a team will want him as a win now player.

A 2023 first and a top prospect isn’t exactly unreasonable for a 99 point player

We are not in our window yet. The Rags 5 highest paid F’s are Millers age or older. Kreider had a career year & not close to JT’s production. Are the Rags gonna just ride out the term on them or go all in is what all of this is about?

Chytil would NOT be happy being traded to then be put on the third line again.

Define what is 3rd line?

It’s a number. TOI is what counts & his wingers are not play driving scorers. He’s already the 3C.

It depends on the prospect plus this trade includes a young roster player as well, so its an overpay for a RENTAL. Sign him if he is so good.

When has JT scored 50 goals in a year? 40? The answer is never. Kreider is a goal scorer, not a set up guy, so the comparison is silly. The Rangers made it to within 2 wins of the cup finals and were the 3rd youngest team in the league, so they are a legit Cup contender already. The kids develop more, the D gets a little better and Shetsy is Shesty, so ZERO need to throw away good assets on a Miller rental. Being that JT is SOOOOOOOO good and the Canucks have never won a cup, I would think they would want him signed long term so he can help them win a cup. Don't the Canucks want to ever win a Cup? Bottom line is renting JT guarantees NOTHING in the Cup winning department and makes the team less likely to win one down the road. Trade him to a team that can sign him long term if you actually want maximum value for him OR, let him go for a RENTAL value if for some reason you must trade him to the Rangers.

Translation:

Rags cannot afford another older stud who was elite last season playing all situations. Only comp is Z. One Shesterkin injury away from middle of the pack while long term contract F’s age out. 50 goal scorers guarantee nothing. Bure Mogilny Vaive etc

Wingers don’t win cups…

Translation:

JT is so good that the Canucks don't want to sign him to a long term deal. Plus, their fans want to trade him to a team that can only rent him and get LESS value for him than trading him to a team that can sign him long term.

Bad decisions don't win cups (or even make the playoffs).

Good decisions 31 teams don’t win the cup.
Good decisions 16 teams don’t make the PO’s.

Boils down to going all in or hope it all works out. Selling hope is getting old.

Many rentals get overpayed. Just look at the Chiarot, Foligno, Savard trades. Even Copp got a decent amount as a rental at the deadline. JT Miller is better than all of them

Copp is younger and Drury tried to sign him long term. JT is a pure rental, big difference.

Right but at the end of the day you payed for a rental. Age doesn’t really matter when it’s a rental. I’m not sayingNew York would be interested in Miller, but you’re really undervaluing him

Not as a rental I'm not. I actually like JT, always have, and would love him back, but not at the costs I see on this forum. Not worth it.

I understand your apprehension but as I’ve said the top vets aren’t getting younger. The prospect pool is deep. Rags looked good to great last season but lacked a bit in the PO’s to go further. Shesterkin is a great goalie & imo it’s a good time to spend some assets. Did it last year. Lost Strome but can live with that. Signed Trochek is better all around. Adding a Miller is a huge piece & great C depth nobody might be able to match. He is also versatile & his skill set is rare to get.
