A three way trade brewing? Dal CBJ and Avs

Description
As far as the Expansion Draft, Hartnell waives his NMC and the Jackets protect Anderson. And with the numerous of goalies to choose from and the need to fulfill the requirements of the expansion draft, Vegas selects Karlsson because he is under contract for next season.

The 3 way trade really makes too much sense. The Stars who really are hurting for a top pair defenseman get Murray. They also receive a left wing prospect in Milano.

The Avs pick up the 3OA pick. The Avs are rebuilding and Duchene doesn't fit into the plans. Sakic has stated he wants a young NHL defenseman in return but the supply is just not there. So acquiring the 3OA gives them back to back picks and the ability to select the two promising defensemen to add to the rebuild. The Jackets also send Dean Kukan, and young left side defenseman, to the Avs.

The Jackets get a right handed shot defenseman who can help solidify the right side on the third pair. Allowing the Jackets to continue to develop Carlsson in Cleveland. The crown jewel of this trade is the Jackets get their top center in Duchene. He not only boosts the Jackets with his speed but also helps improve two of the Jackets biggest areas for improvement: power play and faceoffs.

Pretty unevenly weighted towards CBJ if you ask me. Meanwhile, the Avs draw the short straw and take on all of the risk in this trade.

Avs trade a young established star forward for 3rd overall and the only compensation is Kukan? Brutal trade for the Avs. And the withhold $2m on top of that?

Again people are not seeing the true value.

The Avs would have back to back picks at 3 and 4 OA. They could easily get the two best defensemen in the draft. Also, be in position to grab one of Patrick or Hischier should one of them fall. You say they got the short straw but this is a team heading for a rebuild. Sakic wants a young defenseman but really none are available besides Murray. And to that point he would be approaching UFA by the time the Avs were to start to be in contention. The end game is more important than the immediate success on the ice.
