Description

As much as I love Jake Allen (Maritime Boy), Vegas is probably desperate for a goalie. I could see a package of lower picks instead of the 2024 second round pick, however salary retained will boost the return.

Making Montembeault the starter will help the rebuild by getting another top pick, but Primeau isn’t ready to be his backup on an absolute dumpster fire of a Habs team. Andrew Hammond, who signed a PTO with FLA, can be claimed off waivers if signed to a deal out of camp.

Dadonov, Drouin and Byron will be traded if possible by the deadline.

Overall I think Hoffman and/or Armia will be sent down via waivers. Teams cannot afford to pick them up, plus I think the Habs priority is to lose those contracts anyways.
If Slaf makes the team, definitely one of them is losing their roster spot.
No point having Simoneau as the 14th man. He should be in AHL for experience.
I ses Xhekaj making it, I think Harris might be in the AHL.
