No Kadri

Description
Not signing Kadri is good imo he would not be able to recreate his offense with the islanders. With that being said, I assume Milano is coming here which would be nice

Sign Dobson long term and if we miss the playoffs just blow up the forward core. The D-Core will be elite for years and honestly it would only be a 3-4 year rebuild maybe less if we luck out in the draft and can somehow land a top fish UFA

Could see that but he hasn't been signed yet so he might need to get a prove it deal

He’s 26 and ready for an actual contract. Last contract was his prove it deal.

NYI still have to move cap, because as others have said Milano isnt a 1mil signing.

Maybe Lou isnt the genius this off season. He obviously couldnt move cap to get Kadri.

Agree that the defense is good, and depending on what they do post-Varlamov goaltending should be good, but with whalstrom and barzal being rather expensive re-signs, a large cap dump or trade for little to no salaried return is a must. Losing those two is counter productive to building a team. Other than Varlamov theres no big money coming off in the next 2 yrs.

Moving Bailey and Varly would have created the space for a Kadri signing, but really looking at the above: what has really changed from last years poor showing? Just the same team, a year older.

3 teams before 23 years old. 1st rnd pick. his last chance is in toronto or home with islanders. A couple of fancy (MICHIIGAN) goals in an 80 game reg season wont get you millions
