Hear me out:
Price for Hornqvist (Mirrored on Weber/Dadanov deal)
- removes Hornqvist 5+ mil this season as well as 10.5 mil cap relief with Price to LTIRetired
Dadanov 50% retained + '23 5th for '23 2nd
- realistic valuation imo, FLA can slot a retained Dad into the lineup (Dad > Horn)
Harris + '24 7th for Lundqvist
- Similar player value, added 7th for the RD premium
FLA '24 4th for Gauthier
- fair value
Habs - move Price's contract to a team needing cap relief, while taking a less desirable contract and sending them a better winger while paying him half the rate and only moving a couple rounds back.
- Bring in another contract they could potentially flip for a late round pick
- Bring in a young RD and young F do add to the promising young talent coming up
- Add another higher round pick in a deep '23 draft
Rangers - move young RD for a young LD who could slide right into their lineup
- move on from what has been an underwhelming Gauthier for them
- bring in a couple additional draft picks in '24
Florida - Removes Hornqvists $5+ mil from the payroll
- Add a LTIRetired contract of $10.5 mil to increase their available capspace
- Add a more useful Dadanov (instead of Horn) at a 50% discount = ~$2.5mil
- Costs them 3 round positions (2nd round to 5th round) in this years draft and an additional 4th in '24 to free up $10+ mil then add a useful depth winger on a decent contract (1yr/~$2.5 mil)
Idk I may be seeing it wrong but it looks fairly decent to me
