Why would you want to sign him for 4-5 years?? He would be a UFA in his prime years. His 3 year bridge would be between 6.4 and 7.25 million based on comps. Either way you’re arguing that you think 7 million gets you 4-5 years when you signed him for 7 years above. You can’t just toss Dobby on LTIR when he’s healthy just cuz you have three goalies. It doesn’t work that way. Either trade him or bury him in the AHL

Keep Dobby in minors. Save 1 mil in cap. If needed you can trade him at the deadline for cheaper. He will have less salary to be paid to him by the new team then.
