    #3 overall

Here's why I think this kinda works. Aside from Nico/Patrick, this draft isn't especially strong. One could argue that Dal Colle, a former #5 overall pick in a DEEP draft, would be better than any player available at 3. In addition, DAL acquires Kulimen, on half salary, who is an exceptional penalty killer (their weakness) and a mid 2nd round pick. The Isles can still acquire a good prospect (Liljegren?) while shedding about $2M of cap space in the process

    NYI
    1. Fowler, Cam
    Additional Details:
Poorly kept secret that Anaheim won't be able to keep all of their defenseman. This package works because Nelson is a 20 goal scoring 2C (who ANA can actually protect) and a blue chip LHD prospect.

TB can't pay all of their expiring contracts. Receiving a top-4 LHD shot blocking machine in De Haan and the 15th overall pick is reasonable compensation for Johnson.

Not saying your trade to Dallas wasn't good, because it makes sense, but Jim Nill said he wants an established player in the NHL for #3 overall. But good job on everything it looks pretty good to me.

I like this for the Isles. But as mentioned above, the Stars are looking for an established player. I also heard they are looking for a top end defenseman, so i think they would want hamonic, MDC and Kulemin. The isles wouldn'd and shouldn't accept a deal like that unless they get the 3rd overall and something else for MDC, Kulemin and Hamonic. Great job, love the ideas, but i think the Stars only want it one way and won't waver much in their value

Both reasonable responses. I forgot to mention MDC is NHL ready and with Sharp and Hudler both likely departing. (And Eakin to VGK?) Lot of holes on the third line open
