Description

I don't think there's any chance Guentzel starts 2nd line unless he gets injured so him and Sid are automatically a lock on that top line. Rakell played phenomenal on Sid and Jake's line so I would assume they role with that again to start the season. For the 2nd line I mixed it up. Heinen had a great season last year and I think he deserves those top 6 minutes. Him with Geno and Zucker with Carter spreads the middle 6 out more and lets Zucker ease back in considering he got injured 3 times (I think) last year. the last spot on the 4th line could be litterally anyone depending on how pre-season goes. Considering O'Connor is waiver exempt I expect him to be sent down leaving that spot to Poehling. For the defense I think POJ has to start the season and if Smith is killing it in the AHL he gets called up and a dman gets moved.

This is pretty much spot on. The O'Connor/Poehling/Archibald roster battle will be interesting. As much as I would hate it, Archibald is the safe bet for Sullivan because he knows what he is getting with him. O'Connor and Poehling just have to beat him out in camp.

I could also see Joseph and Smith both losing out in camp with Rutta-Ruhwedel being the third pairing.

I think i would only swap Heinen and Zucker. Smith can be sent down without waivers so i think he goes regardless of how well he plays. O'Connor, Zohorna and POJ would have to clear, and i'm not sure that all 3 do. O'connor had flashes of brilliance last year, big Z looked capable. I think we need to trade someone, somehow.
