The Phillips obsession is absolute craziness. He's a very solid AHL'er that can hopefully play in the case of a call up, his AHL career shooting percentage is 16+%. That's not sustainable especially jumping up to the NHL, his NHL equivalency was 42 last season, prior to that never higher than 35 with a 16% shooting percentage. Your decision here would be to play a career AHL guy that's undersized on the side of a line with two of the most crash and bang forecheckers that have most of their success based on puck retrieval and possession in the opposing teams end over a half a point per game, strong possession numbers and really good extended numbers on one of the worst teams in the league last year. The Flames sincerely need better prospects so the fan base can quit glomming onto good AHL players as top prospects.
