Edmonton's in LTIR, which means they don't accrue cap space. Being close to the cap is better for them (with the players on ACSL.)

You'd need another deal that makes sense for Edmonton, and given that they're giving up a first and three roster players for this one, IMO the other one would have to be a major upgrade.

Can't honestly think Edmonton is better for this.

Let’s break this down. For a team to take Barrie and Foegele they need a 1st (both cap dumps). After that it’s Puli for Pionk (retained) and Gagner. Why would the Jets retain for 3 YEARS especially for only Puli who Edmonton was trying to move so much prior. Just not enough value for Pionk.

Barrie isn't a cap dump, especially with Bouchard going into a contract year. If you were a GM, would you give Bouchard the reigns to the PP this year knowing the contract situation?

Is Foegele's performance that much worse than other third line (~2.75m) players?

That, and given this roster has $4m in dead cap, not sure that Edmonton couldn't find a better deal that helps them.

Barrie is 100% in a cap dump in this market. Foegele is also a 4th liner making 2.75 in this market cap is impossible to move both of them are cap dumps.

The deal doesn't make a whole ton of sense for either side. Just kind of screws things up. Holland isn't one to throw around firsts especially to dump players that still play every night for us.
