What make you think this is even remotely close to fetching you the Dallas pieces?

Give him a break man... He's got Kuzy playing defense on the PP and Willy playing D on the PK ... Klingberg on the wing with Ovi as a center iceman

The power play is a 1-3-1, not a 3-2. You can assume who is where on the power play if you're a caps fan.

As for the Dallas pieces, I think that a Vezina goalie with a top 6 winger and a second round pick is more than enough for an injury prone Seguin, and a young defenseman. I may have a better offer to edit that I will add in a bit.

It's a good team but I think you over paid orlov by about 2 million also think Dallas would eater a d man with a longer contract maybe sign orlov an trade him then it's a fair trade

I scratched the Eberle addition to save salary cap room and then used Carlson as an additional trade piece to bring in Seguin and Klingberg (who has a pretty cap friendly contract compared to what Carlson will ask for soon).

Also, I think Orlov definitely deserves at least what Niskanen is making on a yearly basis. He has proven to be a top pairing defenseman. I think with additional responsibility to play more minutes, 6.7 mil will be justified.

It's not that Orlov hasn't proven himself man...
He's great... But his body of work leading up to his RFA status.... His age... Place in career... He'll get the money you offered on his next contract when he's a UFA... In my opinion I think Orly will get 3-4 years with a cap hit anywhere 3.5-4.75... Kind of like the deal that carlsons on right now that ends next year.... I think Kuzy gets locked up long term(6-8 yrs) 5.5-7mil a season....
I understand your 1-3-1 concept just some weird player placement
Do you have osh on the point? I like him closer to the net?

No I still have Oshie in the slot where they played him the last two years. I envision Seguin down low where Mojo was playing, the Defensemen up top, and then Orlov and Ovechkin loading up for the one timers.

The only reason I feel Orlov will get 5 million or more is because he is older than Carlson was at this stage, and he is a locked in first pairing defenseman right now, as opposed to when Carlson got his first contract extension. He also holds a little more leverage because of all the Russians who say they will leave to the KHL to get a better contract.
