I think it will take considerably more to sign LaF, Miller, and Chytil...I'm guessing 3-5M more between the three. This will necessitate lineup spots held here by Barbashev and Motte to be held by players on ELC, or league minimum salary...and they will still probably need to find an additional 1M to 2.5M in cap space.

Lafreniere will get the Kakko deal if he’s lucky.

If that’s all NYR can, or do in fact offer him…offer sheet incoming.

Most teams can only afford to offer sheet Kakko’s deal anyway.

It's too big a risk. KK was a beast in the playoffs for MTL so that's resume.

I’m not seeing the risk….assuming a team has Cap space- do like the Canes did…the 6M was to pry from MTL… after that the team has options: sign long term on a team friendlier deal or trade and get value back based on how he performed.
