It is tremendously impressive how someone of his size, has handles and shot placement. Though I have found myself yelling "SKATE" and "MOVE" at the TV when he has the puck. Watching him "glide" around the ice, gives me memories of watching Vanek do the same. I joke with my friends that Tage is suffering from "Vanek Disease". Due both willing to shoot from anywhere irregardless of quality, not being able to make their own shots because of lack speed, and a relative benevolent play in the defensive zone.

I realize that the season is still early, and he may still be getting into shape or adjusting to playing more minutes. This is just one of those fan thoughts to pass the time while I grapple with another development season.

Not being able to make his own shots? How many goals has he made from stickhandling the goalie out of position?

Thompson is a better forward than Vanek was.
