Don't think either one will need to be bought out. Might have to eat 1 - 2.5M salary to move Trouba. Can probably trade Goodrow without eating any salary...maybe 500K - 1M retained??

100% spot on with the team management and coaching. Yet although this is probably the "easiest" thing to do- and they might not have to move any players with the right coaching brought in- it's probably the least likely to happen....only because it would require ownership to look in the mirror and own up to the reality that they SUCK at owning/running teams. As the Dolan family also owns the Cleveland Indian (oh- sorry- I mean Guardian) franchise...it was pointed out during the playoffs that Dolan owned teams have a combined 100 years without a single championship. So they can virtue signal all they want- their priority is clear as day: maximize the mighty $. I don't expect any franchise NOT to try to make money, but the good organizations can at least balance out the desire to make $ with the desire to win. The Dolans are nowhere close to this balance.

One more thing-back to the players- both Kreider and Panarin should play on PP1...but one of the 2 should be 3LW. LaF should be a top 6 LW (as indicated here). None of these guys is really the solution at RW.

Buying out Goodrow gives NYR more cap savings than his cap hit for 2 seasons, so they're better offer buying him out, imo.

Yes, but I think if trading him is better. Even if return is dismal. It will not come back and bite them in the ass
