Sharks have no use for DeBrincat. If we're moving Karlsson or Meier it signifies a full on rebuild. We need good prospects and picks not vets.

But getting Debrincat and a top 5 pick this year would go a long way in convincing Meier to stay and would set us up on the forward group.
if sharks play this really smart we could be a playoff team by 24/25 season

Not a bad proposal, not taking on Labanc though

The whole purpose of moving Zaitsev is not to take on another bad contract

Idk i think Lebanc could be a good 40 point complimentary guy on the Sens and who knows maybe a fresh start would benefit him. I dont think hes as overpaid as Zaitzev

Yeah Zaitsev is more overpaid but Labanc is significantly overpaid too, he has a bit of a "resurgence" so far this year but don't think it'll last but anyway, he's not the type Sens need.

Dorion inexplicably destroyed the bottom-6 already and lowered the 2-way ability of the forward group by a good margin so now they need to recover some Nick Paul and Connor Brown types.

Can't take on Labanc's cap next season. Karlsson's is already big enough (even with the retention) so Zaitsev going the other way is fine for the Sharks. Only one season then it's a 100% cap clearance

DeBrincat + Brannstrom + picks is already more than enough for Karlsson and the 2.5 retention
