if we got 1st overall i would trade it for the 2nd overall and take Fantilli and the picks we can get for giving up Bedard. I just like Fantilli game more, he brings a power forward aspect and plays just a hair under Bedards level.

Bedard is putting up similar numbers to McDavid's draft year on a way worse team. You'd have to be getting an insane package to do that.

Fantilli is destroying Eichel’s numbers in his rookie year in college and has 6” and 25 pounds on Bedard.
it would be awesome if we could get the 2nd a late 1st and a 2nd for the 1st OA

Are you saying you'd trade McDavid for Eichel, a late 1st, and a 2nd? Because that's ridiculous

on a team severely lacking talent, Doesn’t the idea of Eichel
Travis Konecky and Rasmus Anderson sound better?
plus i don’t see Bedard as being as good as McDavid and i think Fantilli is better than Eichel

for this reference sharks would essentially trade Bedard for Fantilli LHC Maxim Strabak RD, & Dimitri Simashev LD.

still have an Elite level top line C but we also get a potential top 4 RD and a big solid LD project.

Will Bedard's size translate into the NHL? That's the only holdup I can see teams having. Bedard is the same size as Gaudreau and will probably be better (better shot) but plays similar as a small player. I don't think he'll be a McDavid...

That would be a mind blowing move by Grier. For the record books. I would hope the draft/prospect haul SJ would receive would be significant in that case.

Would love to check back here in 4-5 years to see who was right in the Bedard/Fantilli debate

I would want the 2nd OA (obviously to get Fantilli) a mid to late 1st (to grab a RD like Maxim Strabak) and a 2nd.
Bedard might be amazing, but Fantilli has a 200' game and plays PK & PP and his size is a skill Bedard will never have.
and I honestly don't think in 10 years these two will be that far apart in terms of production barring any injuries of course.
so if I can give up a 1st line C who will be putting up 100-120 points in his prime for a 1st line C putting up 85 -100 points,
and solid top 4 D, and in this ultra deep draft that 2nd could easily become another solid D or middle 6 F. thats a trade I would make.
the only thing that would make me hesitate is Bedard's name will bring fans to the rink and garner more endorsements than Fantilli at first, and that could be the deciding factor not to move the pick.
