If the Canes were going to make a trade for Klingberg, it would have been at some point last season. Now they have Burns, who is an upgrade on Klingberg, why would they overpay for Klingberg just to sit him on the 3rd pairing? Besides, Chatfield can kill penalties and is very reliable defensively. Not to mention that the Canes traded Bear so they could free up the RHD logjam a bit, why would they trade for another RHD? The Klingberg to Carolina rumors were dead as soon as the Canes made the move for Burns. Give it up already. If the Canes make a move with the Ducks, it’s likely for one of Comtois, Kulikov, or Vatrano.

You could be right. I figured additional skill on the D corps might help a lot.

Yeah, a depth addition like Kulikov might help, but overpaying for someone they have no need for is just bad asset management. Besides, the if the Canes really wanted a more offensive option for their 3rd pair, they likely look to Ghost, as he would be cheaper.

Literally every goalie ever had a bad night sometimes. Deangelo is just an asshole.

Literally he had A LOT OF THEM IN NY. Yes DeAngelo is an asshole but Ranger teamates liked him better than Georgiev

You're not wrong, but when healthy, Avs have a lot of games where the shots are under 25 and a good amount in the teens. They are the model defense and Georgiev gets to utalize it. Anyone who says to the Avs "good luck with that goaltending", the Avs can say good luck with that defense.

Those under 25 shot games are often worse for a goaltender than a 30-35 shot game. Concentration level is easier to keep up when busier
