CGY: I don't think Calgary would do that trade, especially without any retention on Smith. Plus, Smith helps the Coyotes reach the cap floor. (I don't mind the idea of trading smith for prospects and/or picks and signing a UFA like Elliot, but I just don't think CGY will give up that much for him).

MTL: The Montreal trade is interesting, but I think the Coyotes would rather hang on to Duclair at this point with his value being at an all time low.

DAL: Don't really see the advantage to trading Richardson for a 5th and then signing Boyle (who would probably never sign here to begin with unless they paid him $5 million/year).

ANA: That's a lot to give up for Silverberg, and with where the Coyotes are, I think they will value those prospects and picks more than a guy who's entering his prime years.

Also, Keller won't be playing center in the NHL and there's no way Strome will be the #1 center next year.

Jimmy Howard or maybe even Mrazek, Brian Elliott, Ryan Miller, Steve Mason, MAF, Annti Raanta, Philipp Grubauer, Calvin Pickard available just off the top of my head, and you think 35 year old Mike Smith would command a return that includes the Flames top goalie prospect and 16th overall in the upcoming draft?

Smith is a much better goalie than the rest of those goalies, with the possible exception of Fleury. Raanta, Grubauer and Pickard have not proven themselves very well at the NHL level. Miller is a backup now, Elliot is coming off an average season and an awful playoff, Mason is terribly inconsistent, Mrazek hasn't proved himself, and Howard is a massive injury concern.

Even if that were true he's not getting 16th overall and Gillies as a return. Give your head a shake. None of those goalies would.
