Description

Lebrun's rumors of a 1st round pick to Vegas in order to take a bad contract turn out to be true, as the Rangers begin their overhaul of the blueline. Marc Staal agrees to waive his NMC and is picked by Vegas in the expansion draft. But the 1st isn't all, the agreement also stipulates that Jesper Fast is set to move to Vegas as well. In return the Rangers receive a 2017 3rd round pick.

The Rangers recoup some assets in trading Antti Raanta to the Winnipeg Jets, being able to pry away a high 2nd after a late drive at Raanta by the Calgary Flames. New York also received a 4th round draft pick from Buffalo for Kevin Klein.
