2023-24 SEASON = NO TRADES (all in-house retentions).

Chill - yeah I know there are overages for Bergeron/Krejci coming of US$4.5MIL.
Face it, all teams find an IR chump or "Robidas Island Camper" to get under the CAP (esp. when the new season starts) this post factors that overage in that fashion.

F*** that, if Pasta wants that I'm willing to let him walk.

If Sweeney is smart, his leverage is waiting out Pasta right up to free agency. Pasta has publicly stated his love for the city and his desire to re-sign, so the closer he gets to free agency, the more pressure buils that there's a real possibility he'll need to move from a city he's lived in for a number of years now and has called home.

$10.5M is market value for 100+ point wingers, and he'll still become the highest paid Bruin in history. Obviously a good agent will try to get the best contract for his player, and a good GM will get the best contract for the team, but it ultimately comes down to the player with the final say. And I think we'll see a similar situation like Forsberg and NSH, both sides will hold out until close to free agency but ultimately come to a deal that is fair for both sides.

Agree whole heartedly.

I’m just saying what has been happening. Donny sated publicly in the offseason they were more than willing to make him the highest paid player on the team.

You have to figure they started at 8x10. If he said 10.5 or 11. This would be over already. 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s just reality.

It isn’t and that’s on Pasta and his camp.

Then he walks as mentioned ( ^ ^ ^ ).
Wish him well & enjoy the new club and the pointless existence (likely a s h i t t y club with the CAP being so tight amongst the best clubs).

For BOS, that leaves the $10.5MIL allocated above to go get 50-goals/100pts.
Not too bad an ask, chop-chop!

And as I said above. Agree whole heartedly.

They can’t sacrifice the team for 1 players demands.

50 goal scorers don’t grow on trees. But they can’t build a team around him if he’s unreasonable.
