Description

I think the Meier trade is more than fair. San Jose gets a great young prospect in Holtz, a first rounder in a great draft, and a solid top-9 forward in yegor. if we have to add more, we could throw in one of our d prospects such as bahl, muhk, walsh, etc.

I like holden, gives good depth, has lots of playoff experience (and will motivate Brendan smith to play better lol)

The reported price is either similar to Fiala or little less than DeBrincat. But both were before San Jose said they will allow other teams to talk extension in-season. I highly doubt Holtz will be part of it, but if he is, I don’t think they would send much else other than some picks.

As for Schenn deal, Jaromir Pytlik is not really a prospect any more. He has not developed at all and is struggling for minutes in Czech second division (actually played a little on a line with Jaromir Jagr last year).

Eklund and Holtz are best friends since childhood and played together in Sweden, which is why there are so many rumors of Holtz going to SJ. Both teams brass know that. Also you can't say Holtz has been knocking down the door in the NHL when given the chance. Holtz and 2023 late 1st is fair value for RFA Meier, with or without extension given NJD's cap space next year.
