I think the Strome deal is realistic. Although he's overpaid, Eberle is still a decent player and I could see him doing better over in the East on a team like NYI. However, I don't see the Williams pick up or Drai getting 7M. I suspect PC will sign Drai to a 2-3 year bridge deal to keep the value of the contact low. If you offer Drai 7M for 8 years what you gonna offer McDavid? PC needs to dump someone regardless. Signing both McDavid and Drai to shorter term, lower cost contract allows PC time to wait for other less important contracts to expire so that they may both be signed to larger deals.

IMO Strome for Eberle is realistic with some modification on Islanders side as they would pick much more salary by this trade. Perhaps some additional draft pick from Oilers or player addition from Islanders would be more fair.

Question:
How will oilers keep the salary cap after Sekera returns from LTIR?
