Would have loved something like this. I actually made an ACGM with the same three additions. Doubt parise is available anymore.

I wonder if the Islanders are out of a playoff spot still by the deadline if he is on the table.

I mean, they just traded for bo horvat. I think that’s your answer.

They’ve still played 3 more games than the penguins, Sabres, and rangers. I don’t think they’re a lock for a spot.

I’m aware of where they are in the standings. That move signals they’re not selling.

could be a last ditch move to get in while also feeling out if he can be signed long term if either doesn't work they can flip him again before the deadline. habs did it a few years ago with vanek

Not exactly the same situation. The islanders traded for vanek at the very beginning of the season, and then moved him again when it didn’t work out.

they traded for him the end of october and traded him away the beginning of march , please tell me what is so different ? outside of the obvious having him a few extra months ,

Vanek played 47 games with the islanders. What could horvat play before the trade deadline? 10? That’s a pretty big difference.

that kinda goes hand in hand with having him a few extra months now doesn't it , other than that the scenario could be exactly the same . he could have been acquired as a push for a playoff spot as well as a chance to negotiate early to see if they can bring him in long term, if neither works they can flip him , its its 100% possible/plausible . something similar to a team giving up a second round pick for 3 days of negotiating with a ufa

Do you not see the difference between a 47 game stint and a 10 game stint?
