Description

The Pens are in desperate need for a spark. With their current assets and being hamstrung by the cap their isnt many trades that are not pipe dreams or just really unlikely to not be outbid or accepted. So whats left to do? It may not work but it is certainly better than doing nothing.

Send Heinen to waivers (He likely gets picked up but its really not a loss so meh)

Bring up Puustinen who is on pace for 50 points in the AHL and see what we have.

Also bring up Nylander who is an AHL allstar and again see what he can do.

Finally, bring up Smith for full time action h3 is easily our best prospect and has earned a starting spot over Dumo who is a straight liability who only plays cuz Sully likes him.

Problem is that still leaves the bottom 6 in shambles. Puustinen is a very skilled winger albeit unproven. Nylander could play a bottom six role
